• Vice President of Guyana Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo on 24 Feb 2023, called on President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi.

• The Maharaja Sayajirao University to host Youth 20 India Summit. 
• The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara will host a two-day Youth20 India Summit on 25 February 2023, with a focus on the theme of climate change and environmental conservation.
• More than 600 delegates from 62 countries participate to discuss ‘Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making sustainability a Way of Life’.
• It will be inaugurated by Bhupendra Patel, CM of Gujarat.
• Summit will be held as a part of India’s G20 Presidency.

• World Book Fair 2023 to begin on 25 February in New Delhi. 
• The 9-day mega book fair will be held from 25th February to 5th March, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
• It is being organised by National Book Trust, an autonomous organization of the Government of India under the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with India Trade Promotion Organization.
• The book display will also include titles on topics such as history, art and culture.

• Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched the 2nd Semicon India Future Design Roadshow in Bengaluru on 24 Feb 2023.
• The aim is to encourage startups, next-generation innovators, and business leaders to invest in semiconductor sector in India.
• He also announced the launch of the ChipIN Centre at C-DAC India, Bangalore. 
• The aim is to encourage startups, next-generation innovators, and business leaders to invest in semiconductor sector in India. 
• India Semiconductor Research Centre (ISRC) which will be a private, industry led research centre will soon be launched.

• Om Birla inaugurates 19th Annual Zone III CPA Conference in Sikkim. 
•  Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla inaugurated the 19th Annual Zone III Conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region in Gangtok, Sikkim on 23 February 2023 which concluded on 24th Feb.
• The Zone III of the CPA India region is an important platform where legislators of the North Eastern region discuss many subjects and issues, and arrive at common solutions. 
• On cyber-bullying, Shri Birla praised the Assam government’s U-Report, an interactive digital tool for online safety, and called for similar initiatives to be implemented in other states.
• Speaker also emphasized that ‘Digital Parliament Project’ will become an effective interface between lawmakers and citizens.

•  He was a senior faculty at the Defence Institute of Quality Assurance, Bengaluru.
• He headed the DQA(L) as Addt. Director General (Electronics).

• Meta is set to launch the AI language model LLaMA.
• LLaMA is a large language model developed by META that is similar to ChatGPT.
• The main objective of the model is to assist researchers in the field of AI.
• LLaMA is the third large language model developed by META.
• The first was Glactica, and the second was Blender.
• LLaMA is a collection of language models that range from 7B to 65B parameters.
• It trains its models on trillions of tokens claiming that it is possible to train state-of-the-art models using public datasets and not relying on proprietary and inaccessible data sets.
• According to Meta, training smaller foundational models such as LLaMA is ideal as they require significantly low computing power and resources to test, validate and explore new use cases.
• Foundational language models are known to train on large chunks of data that are unlabeled and this makes them ideal for customising according to various tasks.
• Meta has said that it will offer LLaMA in sizes such as 7B, 13B, 33B, and 65B parameters.

• India’s conventional diesel-electric submarine INS Sindhukesari on 22 February 2023 became the 1st Indian submarine to dock in Indonesia.
• This is an attempt to strengthen bilateral relations with Indonesia as part of diplomatic-military outreach to ASEAN countries.
• The docking shows India’s increasing military outreach in the region.
• INS Sindhukesari was designed as a part of Project 877.
• Indonesia is among those countries which have been engaged in a naval dispute with Beijing in the South China Sea. 
• As per the Indian Navy, the submarine concluded a 3-day visit to Indonesia.
• The 3,000-tonne conventional diesel-electric submarine reached Jakarta after crossing the nearby Sunda Strait.

• China on 23 February 2023 launched the communication satellite Zhongxing-26 at a cost of 333 million USD.
• It was launched on Long March 3B rocket.
• The main objective of the satellite is to provide broadband connectivity for aviation and ship-related operations.
• It is China’s first satellite to provide more than 100 Gbps speed.
• It was launched by the China Academy of Space Technology.

• The Kerala government, on 24 February 2023 launched a robotic scavenger, Bandicoot, to clean sewages in the town of Guruvayur.
• With this, Kerala became the first state in the country to use robotic technology to clean all its commissioned manholes.
• Water Resources Minister, Roshi Augustine, launched Bandicoot under the Guruvayur Sewerage Project in Thrissur district by the Kerala Water Authority (KWA).
